I'd stake my left bollock on kingy spotting a better division 3 player over our current management.

mind you, his biggest mistake was Thorpe and Cureton. good on paper, shit on the pitch.. though Cureton was better at scoring  than what we have now (controversial)

Got Thorpe on my shirt that year  Crying Crying

We've always had shit players since I've been going...who remembers Ken (Rigor Mortis) Keyworth, or Nine Past Haffey?
I had heard of Haffey but not that much other than he was keeper for Scotland in the great Wembley 9-3 hiding of 1961 but he seemed to lead an interesting life....

Quote
Francis Haffey (b. Glasgow, 28 November 1938) was a football goalkeeper for Glasgow's Celtic F.C. and for the Scottish national team.

Haffey, remembered as one of Celtic's great and more eccentric keepers, played more than two hundred matches for his club.

Haffey is most often associated with Scotland's 9-3 loss to England at Wembley in 1961 - giving birth to the gag: 'What's the time? Nearly ten past Haffey' or 'Haffey past nine'. It would be Haffey's final match for Scotland.

After breaking an ankle in the Glasgow Cup against Partick Thistle in November 1963, effectively ending his Celtic career, he left the following October to play for Swindon Town. Soon thereafter, Haffey moved to Australia, where after a shorter career as a footballer there he found his way into the entertainment business as a cabaret singer.

Haffey made 201 appearances for Celtic. He had 61 clean-sheets. He won two caps for Scotland.

Bit of info from Sam Parkin on our three new loanees. He's probably seen a reasonable amount of them as he's a pundit on Chelsea TV.

Complimentary about Colkett and Dabo, diplomatic about Feruz.

You won't get many compliments from any of his loan clubs. His career is currently filed under 'too much too young'.

I was waiting for this!

Tbf he ranks James Collins as the worst striker he's ever seen and Collins did ok for us.

I was only half joking! It's the age old discussion that some players 'fit' at a club and some just don't. (Parkin at Northampton)

To be fair Coventry fans told us Thomas was mostly useless and he hasn't really disappointed those words has he!

And the Gills said Norris was hard working and OK, while other said he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.

Fans are normally fairly accurate with their assessment of what they were like playing for their team. Its like said though, that was then...this is now ...

Have to say if, **IF** this is everyone I'm very disappointed in our transfer activity. Now, that is detached from whether it works out or not in that I accept 'you never know, might be brilliant'

Islam Firoz has been on loan five times - and had them terminated early 5 times - although I did like his quote from his time at Blackpool.

'They take more kick offs than corners'. If he somehow clicks here he could be an inspired loan.

I suspect Firuz is the extra in a 3 for the price of 2 deal....

His comments in a recent article indicate he knows he needs to get his head down and fix his attitude. Let's hope he does.

Tbf to him, he's been loaned out to some fairly far flung outposts - Greece, Khazikstan even Scotland poor kid.

Difficult for a young 'un. Hopefully with a couple of chums with him , he can feel a bit more settled.
