Broken Collarbone.

damn, was hoping they called that wrong.

In cycling terms a break is better than the sort of ligament damage than Louis got....it's a shame for the kid though.

Looking at the highlights, Hylton gets straight up after being decked. Hard as fuck.

Josh Cook joins cheltenham on loan until January.

I bet he's buzzing to play at the World Of Smile Stadium...

Decent move though.

Looks like Smudgers move to Barnsley is dying, no thanks to that Jermaine Hylton.

What a shambles our business has been this summer. All for keeping back some of the money to improve the club and help build towards the future. Though it should be noted its not being spent in an area that could increase income and allow for further on pitch development but it all has to be done.

One of the most thin and poor squads we've got. Lots of pressure on young lads to kick on this season.

GK's

1. Lawrence Vigouroux (LOAN)
25. Tyrell Belford (2017)

Ok but what happened to BBC wilts 'understanding' of a permanent deal?

Defence

2. Nathan Thompson (2017)
3. Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill (2017)
5. Jordan Williams (LOAN)
6. Jordan Turnbull (LOAN)
11. Kevin Stewart (LOAN)
15. James Brophy (2016)
27. Brad Barry (2016)
29. Raphael Branco (2017)

8 looks good and we have cover. Barry there is a huge question mark about rightly or wrongly. Good luck to Brophy but we would be loaning him out if we could so really we have 6 and Stewart is covering Midfield as well.

Midfield

4. Fabien Robert (2016)
7. Drissa Traore (2016)
8. Yaser Kasim (2016)
21. Will Randall (2016)
22. Lee Marshall (2016)
26. Anton Rodgers (2017)
28. Ellis Iandolo (2016)

The real worry in the squad! Iandolo is a random 17 year old, can't really be considered. Marshall/Randall have potential but not enough for Cooper to play them ahead of playing the CB Williams there instead in recent games. So we have 4 and Robert is playing as a forward! No creativity here if Robert plays as one of the 3 up top. As we watched on Sat Traore/Kasim/Rodgers are too tippy tappy and none of them can do something to create some space. Ideally Robert would play in here with Kasim/Traore but that leaves us with problems up top.

Forwards

--. Jordan Stewart (2017)
--. Wes Thomas (2016 - January)
--. Jeremy Balmy (2016)
20. Jonathan Obika (2016)
24. Jermaine Hylton (2017)

No idea if that Balmy one has happened but assuming not as nothing official. Thats 4 players for the front 3 positions, so one player as cover? 2 if you include Robert here but then you have nothing beyond the 3 in midfield.

The squad is so light and just doesn't seem to have the flair/attacking quality/nouse that we have had last 2 years and i can't believe we've done nothing about it. We've swapped Luongo/Gladwin/Byrne/Williams for Traore/J Stewart/Robert.

We have 15 real pro's and that includes 2 gk's and Hylton who has barely proved anything yet. It doesn't count J Stewart.

You are only allowed 5 loan players in the squad as well and we already have that so we can't cover any problems which we will have with that few number of players and as we are having now. Had hoped we could do better than this.

Pretty sure there are options on a few of them,

otherwise, the model is broken!

Thats part of the problem with the recruitment this summer. Where are the next £1m players to keep funding this model?

Options don't work. We take up the extra year to try and get some money ala Byrne this year but the real money and negotiation is having longer term contracts which we don't have with people. I want to say there are more gambles in the squad but as we've paid nothing for them they are not really gambles other than a footballing sense. Where are the high risk high reward players like Luongo? Why have we not looked at that this season?

http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/swindon_town_2014/13639429.Town_still_hopeful_over_deal_for_Ojamaa/

this helps with numbers if both are confirmed and one of them has some experience at least

No offence but you are talking nonsense, let's do a direct comparison just to humour you:

Fods = replaced by Vigs
Belford = still here

N Thompson = still here
Branco = still here
Turnbull = still here
Stephens = replaced by Williams
Toffolo = replaced by BOO
Ricketts = not replaced (big loss?)
Bartram = Brophy

Kasim = still here
Byrne = replaced by J Stewart, a punt yes but why not
Luongo = Kevin Stewart
Gladwin = Robert
L Thompson = Traore
Swift = not relaced but ran out of room in squad last season.
Rogers = Still here

Obika = still here
A Williams = Wes Thomas
Hylton = Still here
M Smith = not replaced

Have I missed anyone?

So out of last seasons main players (approximately 20 of them) we've got players in 17 of the areas with just Ricketts, Swift and Smith not replaced. This doesn't include Barry, Balmy or the Estonian guy which you could say covers at least 1 of the numbers. Also maybe a couple of our youths might make an impact?

Yes we have taken a few punts but numbers wise we aren't really any different and let's face it bar Williams and Ricketts last season the rest were young punts that came good.
So I don't really get the squad size panic?
