Taking aside our antipathy towards him as an individual and the 82ers as a club, are people surprised with how Flint has progressed?

I really wasn't arsed about him leaving, and thought we got more than a fair price for him BUT here he is two years later, a virtual ever present in a championship winning side, double figures for goals this season, and voted in the top 5 players in the league.

I wouldn't have predicted that to be honest

Luongo to Villa.

He's off no matter what and that would be a cracking move for him.
What do we reckon, £3-£4M?

I think everybody expected that move to materialise once Sherwood got a Prem job.  There was probably a nudge and a wink between Sherwood and Power the day he got the Villa job.

£3-£4m sounds about right to me, unless they look to include a similar Luongo deal to the one from Spurs with the next Massimo from the Villa under 21's coming our way.

I think I'd rather have the money TBH, that'd be next season's wage bill taken care of.

Even though he won't be our player, I'd hate to think of him rotting in some reserve team, whatever else you say for tactics Tim, he does play young players. Could see Mass doing a job for them, hell if Mason can become a Prem regular I don't see why Luongo, a better player to my mind, can't

I can't see him being up to the prem yet, but you've already pointed out Mason did so who knows. Good luck to him.

As for Flint, it's a cracking example of why we should be patient with gladwin, if flint can turn into a good league 1 player Gladwin should piss it within a season or two... not sure if flint is going to struggle more in the championship mind. hope so.

He isn't the best dealing with the ball on the floor, in the air yep but most champ football I have seen isn't aerial so who knows.

His turnaround in discipline is remarkable tho

Gladwin will be huge for us next season.

I've a hunch that Villa/Sherwood will buy him in the summer...... and then loan him back to us for the season.

...and with that, quite predictably, Luongo and Byrne are in the Team of the Year.

Apparently John Swift had a meningitis scare! But he's back in training now.
