I think we should be looking to the future and signing up some of our youngsters on pro deals.

Surely we should be keeping Barthram? We have very little defensive cover, even with that fella from Wolves signing.

I agree. He's looked bright when he's come on, too.

Agree re Barthram. Not as good as NB going forward but has a good engine and is good cover if needed at this level. Bench will be looking sparse if him & Barker leave.

Luke Matthews, Callum McCormack, Joe English, Amir Geid, Claude Da Costa all let go, 2 out of 8 not a great return if we gonna go down the youth route, loans are all well and good but having a few of your own breaking through the ranks is a must

Lets hope Randall and Cooke can break into the first team, although have to admit know nothing about either of them

Do the youths play the same possession-based style that our first team do?

I believe they do. Pretty sure it's a club mantra these days & a major reason why Power wants to get everybody based at the same site with regards to training.

Marshall, Cooke and Randall represent a decent return from the 2nd year scholars and I'd say that's about right.

Judging brief comments made over the season, I'd say it's more likely that Lee Power is more concerned with Swindon Town assisting in the development of elite academies instead.

Even when Byrne has been injured Cooper has played Gladwin instead. Can't imagine Barthram has much hope of a new contract here since he has spent pretty much the entire season sat on the subs bench
