So he's talking of 2 goalkeepers, I suspect that may mean that Will Henry will be on his way as you suspect that he will want the goalkeepers fighting for the shirt not a clear No1 & No2, shame as I think given time he will be a decent keeper as the games he's played he's looked fine.
I see Wellens point about the youngsters if there is no route into the first team for them then it is counter productive keeping them as they take up wages.
I look forward to seeing what Wellens can do with his big rebuilding job though, hopefully a majority of business can be done early and have a settled squad over pre season with maybe a couple of spaces for those that do end up coming late due to their clubs deciding they don't want them. but being that extra quality.
I hope though that a team is built around Doughty, I think when he is fully fit and playing that bit further forward he is a dangerous and quality player at this level.

On the flip side about Romanski he states he needs to have a think about keeping him as he doesnt know whether he is good enough, whilst telling Conroy and Knoyle they have until the end of the week to sign a contract

Don't know about that but I know we paid a transfer fee for him, undisclosed as always. |

He had recently signed a new contract at Chelsea until June 2018 when we signed him. So he had a year and half left. |

If the club chooses to sell the player without him requesting to move, the player is entitled to the full value of the remainder of the contract i think. If the player requests to move and break the contract he isnt due anything.

What's everybody's thoughts on the retained list then? I'd keep Conroy, Knoyle & Rose from those who are out of contract. Wouldn't shed any tears if the rest went. Of the OOC players who haven't featured much or at all under RW the only one I'd keep would be Diagouraga who when fit will be a great DM at this level presuming he fits into RW's style of play. Got a feeling he'll be moved on if there are takers though.

Yeah, Rose has signed now. Agree with regards McGlashan. Hopefully he's done enough at Wrexham to convince them to turn his loan into a perm. Can't believe Robertson & Dunne were given 2 year deals by Flitcroft either but there you go. |
