Pretty sure there was a similar situation with Robin Hulbert in the late 90's.
Just noticed this, the issue with Hulbert was we had to bung Everton a bit of extra cash if he played x number of games...

I’d be very surprised if Romanski had such a clause as a first/second year pro. Especially after only 10 senior appearances.

...and it wouldn’t be earth shattering sums either.

Romanski may well have a pay increase after he reaches 10 games, that said I doubt it will be more than £100 a week probably at his age.

Wellens seems to like him but just wants him to get more game time, Conference South is his level at the moment and he should do ok there, if he does well then National League loan for next season, if he doesn't do well then off you fuck.

Chatting to a friend yesterday about Joe Romanski. Apparently there is a clause in his contract for a wage increase when he plays 10 first team games. He is currently on 9 appearances and not on great money but if we are penny pinching and he is not injured, then what has this club become? As said elsewhere probably out on loan tomorrow.  Hmmm

Your friend is talking shit

lolz.

Do the signings so far this window and appointments like Jewell and Shirtliff really strike anybody as the actions of a 'penny pinching' club. No need to reply, Reg.

Behave. I agree with Tails.

I don't think any signing or player sale since Power has taken over could be seen as "penny pinching" if the manager (whoever it is) wants a player then Power will get the best deal financially for the club, thats not penny pinching thats just being fiscally responsible.

I don't think an extra £100 a week would break our wage structure! its not like when PdC was signing players on a whim that we floated so close (often over) the FFP limit, thats not likely to happen under Power, ever.

I dont think he will sign, keeping his options open to see if there is any interest further up the table, at this level clubs rarely pay a fee for a goalkeeper so if he wants to move he would be better on a free

Only if someone's prepared to pay for him.

Worries me how many players he seems to have a pop at if i am honest. I know some will jump down my throat for it but just do not see this style working these days. It's ok him saying he does not understand the modern player mentality but that is what he is working with
