I don't understand how there are people saying this is the worst squad we've ever had? Yes, there are a lot of piss poor players but it's almost as if people have only been watching since the PDC days  Hmmm

It's quite simple really...they look at past squads and make comparisons. Of course it is a bit subjective, insofar as we may look back on a squad that included Delf, Norris, Anton Rodgers, BOO, Brad Barry etc in years to come and think wow, such talent with the benefit of hindsight....but our last relegation side widely regarded as in the top 3 or 4 poorest sides ever, could still boast, Ritchie, Caddis, Douglas with a young Flint kicking around somewhere.

Those players were all very young at the time (Bar Douglas) which is why I find it difficult to write this team off as they are mostly so young, the names you mentioned there (Ritchie & .....FFS Flint) are 2 of the best players (bar Charlie & Simon) we've had in the last 10 years but at that time they weren't doing the business.

I can think of so many times in the late 90's early 2000's where I watched the team and there was not one chink of light on the pitch in terms of talent. I think some of the players we've got now will become decent players at this level.

Fair enough, everyone's entitled to their opinion and mine is most of our lot will be lucky to pick up a Conference club when they leave us. Obika, Kasim and Nathan may get a Div 3 or 4 club in the summer.

Their stock has certainly fallen this season. Like to keep Nathan, mind.

Come on Reg they are all potential Championship players, well certainly Nathan anyway.

What you mean like our recent potent goalscorers in Div 3..... Nicky Ajose 35 goals in Div 3, still in Div 3; Michael Smith 26 in 71, in Div 4; Andy Williams 34 in 105, in Div 4.

Of our Power time players sold, only Luongo is anything like a semi regular in the Championship.

Some truly truly awful players during that time, Kingy also signed some absolute stinkers.

Kingy also signed some absolute stinkers.
Especially during his final season where he combined with Iffy signed the likes of Trevor Benjamin, Chris Mcphee and Albert Jarrett to name but a few.

Albert Jarrett, Jesus Christ.

At least the squad we have now has the chance to improve, the majority of the duffers in these squads were all 28/29+

I'd stake my left bollock on kingy spotting a better division 3 player over our current management.

mind you, his biggest mistake was Thorpe and Cureton. good on paper, shit on the pitch.. though Cureton was better at scoring  than what we have now (controversial)

We've always had shit players since I've been going...who remembers Ken (Rigor Mortis) Keyworth, or Nine Past Haffey?

The main difference to now being that in amongst the dross were usually a few gems.....our few who resemble proper footballers namely Nathan, Kasim and Obika have barely featured this season on any regular basis, and not been too great when they have.
