Ah, so that time of the season has arrived.

It's June. There's plenty of time for players to arrive.

I agree, still early days but there will need to be quite a big recruitment drive in a short space of time come the 1st July. Ajose going this week so we need some strikers in to replace his goals plus players to replace Turnbull, Louis Thompson, Doughty to name a few

5 weeks til first game. What happened to the 2 signings supposedly already sorted - Goddard may be one - and the 'getting business done early'.

I think a few ST waverers are waiting for a sign.

I heard they are on a par with last year - which would be surprising.

I'm 2 of the waverers!

From The South London Mercury

'When news of Charlton’s bid leaked it was reported from the Wiltshire end that the fee was £800,000.

But The Mercury has been told it is significantly less than that, with Swindon lured into a deal with a heavy up-front payment.

Cash flow due to declining season ticket sales Wink

Funding April through to August is always a problem with no cash coming in. Clubs up until the early 60's used to get around it by not paying the players, who would then have to find other work like playing cricket.  Mike Summerbee and Ernie Hunt used to dig graves in Radnor Street....Don Rogers used to work for Smiths the undertakers by the CG.

Thinking about it, now that we're out of the EU, clubs could go back to the old model....going to be loads of seasonal work around, picking fruit and veg, once the Eastern Europeans are deported. It would do the likes of BOO some good.
