Hi All,

Quick question.

Will formatting a memory stick properly delete any documents on it so they can't be recovered?  I've tried using the shredder thing Simon Pieman put up a few months ago but it doesn't begin the process with the memory stick.

Cheers in advance.

No, you will need to use a shredder for it to be unrecoverable. You could try Eraser. It's simply right click and choose erase. Or at least it was when I used to use it.

Cheer Barry.  Looks like it should work but it says it is done with errors and that I should run it again as an administrator!  How the chuff does that work...it's my bloody computer!

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

You could also use CCleaner (free download). In the tools section there is a drive wiper tool that will wipe the drive so nothing can be recovered.

CCleaner is also very useful for giving your system a quick tidy to delete all the crap that accumulates over time.

I don't really know windows post XP, so I'm afraid I don't know how to do that.

This looks like it will help.

I always forget CCleaner has that function.  It looks like it'll work too, cheers.
