Sorry reg missed this.
My mrs drinks wine and i always get it by the bottle for her when we go out.

A lot of the ladies of uncertain age, that are in my immediate social circle, fortunately like to pre load, thus reducing the cost of pub wine drinking....it does piss me off, when you get stung for about £20, for something you can get in the Co-Op for 6

Curry is very healthy. As long as you avoid the ones with cream in them.

Fuck the ones with cream in them.

Loaded with green chillies is the way forward.

Or a vindy or phal

Or one with red meat. And have plain rice, no bhajis and if going for bread make sure it's a chapatti and it isn't brushed with butter.

AKA the world's most boring curry.

I have opted for vindaloo lately and always have chicken. Never liked the creamy ones. Not a proper curry imo

One can't get a proper (British) curry in Thailand.

But can you get a Thai green curry?

Or did the British invent it and then pretend it was from Thailand.

Don't forget pretty much all curry is cooked in copious amounts of ghee which is the most fatty substance ever known to anyone ever.

Thai green curry is legit Thai food.

Thai food is great. Problem is that the 'authentic' stuff is full of fat, gristle skin and sinew. The Thai's love that shit, they're quite happy to suck the ligaments off a bone.

I have to settle for the westernised stuff that is made using actual meat. Either that or dominoes pizza

I'm ok for money but by no means wealthy. Don't think spending £100-£150 over a weekend on my leisure is excessive.
Not having a dig at you spending your money at all, you have earnt it and can obviously spend it however you choose, I just wish I was in your position not to worry financially about it really is all.

Me and the missus go out once a month now and never spend more than £50 between us when we do go out, and I don't drink at home any more now I just can't afford it.

But thats the difference of being out of work on incapacity and living on about £160 a week for a family of 2 adults and 17 and a 19 year old.

In your financial position I would probably spend a similar amount as you on take aways etc.
