I finally get to upgrade my phone tomorrow, and so far i think this is what I am swaying towards. After my not-so-fantastic relationship with my HTC Desire, i am wary of having another HTC, but i really like Android, so Samsung seems the logical step. The Note is winning mainly due to screen size/quality (amongst other things).

Has anyone on here used one? I've watched/read reviews online, but some genuine end-user comment would be handy.

Cheers.

I used to work for Vodafone and was involved in managing the testing of mobile phones network and WAP capabilites.  Back in 2004 Samsung were terrible, really unreliable with very bad software.  Now I have a Samsung Galaxy Sii and its by far the best phone i've ever had.  Easy to use, great functionality and is not as limited as Apple products.  The note has similar processors and capabilities to the galaxy Sii from what I understand and so should be good value for the money and do almost all the things you need it for.

Whilst I love Apple Macbooks I just dont like the phones/Mp3 players they make at all.

Galaxy S III rumoured to be released in the next month so might be worth waiting for a little while if you have the patience.

This.

I got my SII a couple of weeks before the Note came out. The SII is a cracking phone, and I love a huge screen. I think the big screen on the Note is even better. Yes it's a bit big, but a bigger screen would be awesome. And no need for a tablet, which I really want as well.

However, if the SIII comes out, I'd probably take that over the Note simply cos it's newer.

I bet it'll have some sweet specs as well.

I got the Note as my upgrade a little while ago and sent it back as it was HUGE! The spec was very good and the screen was good but i didn't feel it was practical as a 'phone, i.e. it wouldn't fit in my pocket and would be cumbersome for me to hold (small hands!) In the end i got an iPhone 4s.

Aww. I find the iPhones too restricted to use... It's like a little patronising device that spoon-feeds you everything.

You should've waited for the iPhone 5 if anything.

I've had no problems with the iPhone so far but then again i'm a bit of a luddite so the fact it spoon-feeds me is great! I also couldn't wait for the 5 as my BB took a plunge in the toilet and although i managed to save it and got it to work again it was slowly dying!

Think i'll be getting an S3 when i have saved up for one. Fuck getting another contract and paying £40 a month for something I can get at £10 a month on a sim only deal or pay as you go.

I'm not keen on the Note. It looks like it's not sure whether it wants to be a phone or a tablet. And it looks too big to be a phone and too small to be a tablet.

On the subject of HTC, Desire's were renowned for motherboard issues which caused constant reboots. I've had my HTC Sensation for 6 months and can't fault it, no problems at all (before tans tells you they're shit).

I had the motherboard issue but HTC were excellent at repairing it and I was only without the phone for 3 days (1 because nobody was in when DHL tried to deliver it the first time).

Orange on the other hand are a bunch of cunts.
