Around about the date of the Oxford game......

Or was there something bigger going on behind the scenes?

Was that also the time of Tehoue, Bostock, Holmes and McEveley coming in on loan? Wonder whether it was to do with PDC going to the board to ask for money for more players? Maybe he didn't get the response that he wanted initially? I guess we'll never know.

Yes, but the following things happened around then:
- We lost to Oxford on 3rd
- A new player was mooted on 6th
- Boateng went back to Arsenal on 6th
- We put 4 past D&R on 7th
- Tehoue signed on loan on 8th
- PDC did a piece about player power and board being too close to players last year

So, based upon news around that time, there is the disappointment of losing to local rivals, players coming and going and discussions about how best to manage a club. Wild guesses perhaps.

Perhaps he was just doubting his own ability as a manager at this level in not having massive resources available to him, being in charge of players without the footballing ability or attitude that he requires and also the constant travelling to and from Italy as well must take its strain on any man.
