  PAOLO Di Canio has wished one-time Swindon target James Constable all the best in his career, but admitted he will never consider signing him again for as long as he remains Town manager.

What did Paolo say wrong? It was quite respectful I thought. Only possible aggravation was the "he wanted to come here" line, which Paolo seems keen to make clear.

I can imagine it was in response to a question about whether the rumoured striker that may (or may not) be about to join is Constable.

Paolo would have answered the question honestly (lets be honest he always says what he believes), and hey presto a headline is written.

As you say, he was asked a question and answered it honestly, which is what he does. It's not like he phoned the Adver and said, "It's  Paolo Di Canio here and I want to tell the world what I think about James Constable"...
