Oh who gives a shit. He's just some bog standard, average league 2 clogger who would've quickly realised than he'd be one of our worst strikers.

That original club statement still baffles me.
'After discussions with the player, we have allowed him to talk to the club'
But basically the "discussion" was the club letting Constable know their position; that they were accepting the offer and their reasons for doing so. Clearly they also told him that they were reluctantly accepting the bid, otherwise he wouldn't have stayed.

Why would they need to 'allow' him to do anything? Why not just say 'the player will talk to the club'?. Why 'we will allow him to talk to the club'? Very strange semantics to use for a player that didn't want the move. *Edit The actual quote was: Oxford United Football Club can confirm they have received a much improved offer from Swindon Town Football Club for James Constable and after discussions with the player have given permission for him to talk to the club Given him permission? Rather an interesting way to word it.

I've read this about 100 times and I'm still unsure what original poster meant by SAS

“It’s just been a case of what is the best footballing decision for me, and I feel that is at this football club.”
hahahahahahahahahah. If he think's staying at poxford over us is a better footballing decision then he's clearly mental.

In all honesty, it probably is the best footballing decision for him.
With us, especially as we go up, he's likely to get found out and disappear into obscurity. At least the pox are likely to stay at his level. Big fish, small pond and all that.

Maybe he won't have to train as hard.

What a load of bollox. I thought we were supposed to pay stupid wages yet he could earn better elsewhere. Just as well we didn't sign him, he'll be committef if he continues to spout this shite.

I'd like a big banner with
'Firoz Kassam - 2012 Landlord of the Year'

How about a giant banner displaying a stand? We could hang it over the fence.
