used to use avg but eventually it became an arse(slowing things down) so i use microsoft security essentials instead

Dunno about the bees knees,but it doesn't slow my pc down,is free, and i aint had any issues with it.

Can anyone suggest a decent free anti virus for Macs?

Currently using "Sophos" and get the feeling it's not doing very much...

Have you got a virus on your Mac then? I bought one and used it (Virus Barrier X6), but it found nothing and I hated it. I then decided it was a resource hog and haven't bothered since - you can have that if I can find the serial.

You could also try Clam.

Same. Did plan on grabbing Avast/AVG but MSE seems to be doing the job just fine.
