Morning
I have a laptop with a load of films on and would like to be able to watch them on my tv. I have connected it via hdmi.to the tv, i get the picture but no sound going through the tv. Is there a way i.can get the sound through the tv?
Muchos gracias x

HDMI normally carries sound. Is there anything in the control panel sound settings/sound mixer that would look like a "default sound output" with HDMI as an option?
There may also be an option to do this under the application you are using. Look at the options.
Don't have an HDMI capable PC at work so I can't be specific.

Is it from a HDMI port on the laptop (if so, do what Batch said) or have you just got a VGA > HDMI converter?

So exactly the same; HDMI from PC->TV and no sound? If so look at the PC settings. "Windows->Settings->Control Panel->Sound". Look at the "playback" tab, what does it say is default? If HDMI is listed then select it as default.

Not sure why but try rebooting your laptop while the hdmi lead is connected, works for me everytime...
