Number one son says that he wants 'some memory' for his XBox 360 Arcade. Saw a 20Gb module  on Amazon for £22-30. Wondering will that be sufficient?

He plays Halo, COD, GTA, FIFA07 and the like. He doesn't have XBox 360 Live (or whatever its called).

One of the things that intrigued me on the first review I read about this 20Gb memory module was that 20Gb was very small these days and that you can 'save games to avoid the red ring of death'.

Does that mean that you can do the same as on a Nintendo DS and by a card that you can load lots of different games onto? If so, how big are games and what size memory module is it best for me to get him?

Basically - yes.

I know nothing about XBox 360. I know he wants 'extra memory'.

If there is an equivalent of an R4 then I would buy one.

I have a 20Gb hard drive on mine which is still quite a bit. Then again, i don't save games to it!

There are hard drives up to 250GB. It might be worth having a look on ebay for different sizes.

I'm unaware of any similar product for the 360. There might be. Maybe someone else on here may know more than i do. Sorry!

I'll have a look about for you and see if there is anything similar to the R4.

Found a 60Gb on Amazon for £30. Might give that a go.

Thanks.

Pretty sure you can get Xbox hard drives pretty cheap if you shop around. 20gb is small by my experience and that was without installing games on it. I now have a 250gb. I'd look for the largest possible to be honest. Storing games doesn't mean less chance of the RROD on an old version of the 360 but it does mean a quieter operation and less chance of your discs being scratched.
