Don't see why not as we're back with Adidas now. Man United sell retro shirts in their club shop but remove the umbro logo. I like how going through all the kits, you see the size of shorts change over the years.

Really like the spartans kit actually. Going to look into something similar for a sunday league team.

This is a very good site.

http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/

The following League teams play in red shirts, shorts and socks.

Liverpool, Orient, STFC , Crawley. Pisses me off we are currently the bottom ranked League club of those 4!!!!

Playing in Red Shirts, white shorts - Arsenal, Man United, Barnsley, Bristol City, Nottingham Forest, Charlton, Walsall, Accrington, Crewe, Morecambe, Rotherham

Middlesborough play in red shirts with white shoulders, red shorts and white socks.

I grew up with red and white, but I actually prefer the all red kit.

So many other teams play in red and white, its nice to be a little different.

While we're at it, I'd love to change our nickname from the Robins to the Moonrakers, it really annoys me that a few other teams are called the Robins, it just seems a little errrmm, generic?

Now I've been going regularly to the CG since 1979 so it not like I'm a new fan forgetting tradition or anything but for some reason, the Robins thing just annoys the piss out of me.

We've changed our crest as often as my Uncle has changed wives, so why not the nickname?

I await a torrent of abuse...

You'll get no abuse from me.  I think sharing our nickname with the Slave Traders, Num and whoever the fuck else is stupid.  Moonrakers is a much better nickname.

I prefer the red shorts too.  Look much better all in red.

So the first time we played in Red shorts was when the badge changed to the Safeway's logo.

For that, if for no other reason, we should go back to white shorts Smiley

Yes indeed.... protesting, I remember all that nonsense....

Perhaps I should delete my account in some sort of childish lash out... a line in the sand if you will...it would broadcast the message loud and clear to Watkins and the rest of his cronies - "we're not taking this 'Robins' shit anymore!!"

I'll re-join when the nickname has changed... it'll hurt to do it as I love the club etc etc etc.

I quite liked the diamond logo, but am equally happy with the current crest.

For some reason, the kits with bits of green trim are my favourites.

I am a Wiltshire boy through and through, and like the idea of being called the moonrakers, but you can't just choose a new nickname - people just wouldn't use it, any more than anyone calls the Stratton Bank the Adkins Family Stand.

Very good.

The Robins has always been a half-arsed nickname anyway.  You never hear it sung in the ground.  It's a term used by journalists, not fans.
