I'm hoping there's a 'blond' answer to this.  I have a Samsung Galaxy SII phone, approx one month old.  The screen is now completely blank - but the phone does appear to be working because when I call it it rings.

Does anyone have any ideas?  If the screen is ####ed, then it's looking terminal, I guess.  But I haven't dropped the phone or anything so I'm at a loss to understand why.  Thanks.

I've not experienced that problem but the first thing I'd do would be to take the battery out and turn it back on?

Yeah all you can do is take at battery and SIM and reinsert and see what happens.

If that doesn't work then I guess its knackered. Any way to reset it back to default with no screen working, just to try to rule out a software issue?

Then I guess its back to the retailer/manufacturer for repair.

OK...feeling a bit stupid now.  I took your advice, and happy to say it's now working again.  At least for now.

Thanks to you both.
