The End of the Fucking World starts slow but worth sticking with. Both of the main characters are pretty hateable at first but you like them both towards the end.

Tried a couple of new shows this weekend.

Limitless: I haven't see the film, but the first episode of the show was promising although it already looks like its going to be predictable as hell.

The film is a lot better, the tv show is tedious and boring by episode 3. Not to mention the main character is a smug twat

One off documentary on iplayer, hosted by Patrick Kielty. Talks about growing up in Northern Ireland and losing his dad to sectarian violence. Does a great job of interviewing all sides and keeping an open mind. Really hard watch in places.

My Dad, The Peace Deal, and Me.

I just watched that. The whole Ireland thing fascinates me and I thought that was a really interesting documentary.

I went to Northern Ireland last year, lovely countryside and friendly people. Only time I've been to an off licence where the doors locked and you have to ring a bell.

Glasgow and Edinburgh do the same in some areas.

My dad was from Northern Ireland, but never really spoke about it. It was really interesting for me to learn a bit more about the history of the place.

My dad was from Northern Ireland, but never really spoke about it. It was really interesting for me to learn a bit more about the history of the place.

My Irish Uncle was in the R.U.C during the mid 80s onwards. He never spoke much about it but had to regularly check the family car for potential explosives and/or tracking devices. Real sketchy times, more so as from about 1988 they had their little one (my cousin). I can't imagine what that would've been like for him. Every day, going to work not knowing if;

a) he'd make it home in one piece.
or
b) his family would be there when he got home.

I was fortunate in later years, around 2000/2001 to get a chance to look round the police vehicle compound. Many of which were armoured vehicles for dignitaries/heads of state as well as several unmarked ARVs. The incredible weight of the doors of what looked like a normal Rover 75 and thickness of glass at around 3 inches thick. Little did I know at the time, this little browse would give me knowledge later the line, for a future job role.
