Its based in LA about the 80's cocaine boom. Well worth a watch

Started watching Peaky Blinders this week, just starting S2 and really enjoying it.

Anyone else find it really quiet at times?

I gave up on it because of the volume being all over the place, can't stand programs like that

Don't ever watch a Christopher Nolan film.

Watched series 1, was brilliant, loss interest about half way through series two and not watched since, keep meaning to watch it again and see if it holds me better on a second viewing but ain't got the time so far. I do wonder whether Taboo will be the same, great first series, downhill after that?

Sound in stuff pisses me off a lot and also the fact that everything seems to now be filmed really dark!

I've never seen it, but such differences in volume have always been a pet hate of mine. You'd think that they'd have realised it long ago and it would be an industry standard to avoid it. Evidently not, though.

I’ve never understood why they don’t do what they do with music and run the entire audio track through some kind of compressor. It’s what I hate about a lot of podcasts as well.

So sad the Detectorists has finished, absolute understated quality. Genius.
Fingers crossed that the new series of League of Gentlemen is somewhere nearly as good as previous series.

If you liked Mindhunter then get on Manhunt:Unabomber. Very similar vibe to it, criminal profiling etc
