Please be kidding.
It wasn't bad, but the best comedy of the past 20 years? Get a grip.

Not kidding.  I love it.  It bridges the gap between making me laugh out loud and making me genuinely fond of the characters.

I have a grip - its clearly a different grip to yours.  Each to their own and all that.

Indeed, everyone has different tastes.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Gavin & Stacey, but I don't think it would be in my top 10 or even 20 comedies from the past 20 years.
But that's just me.

That's my number one, it's excellent.
That and 2 Packets of Crisps & a Pint of Lager and Gimme Gimme Gimme.

Indeed they do.  I can't even really tell you why I love Gavin & Stacey so much - I just do.  For the record, my other favourites of the last 20 years are probably Men Behaving Badly, Peep Show, The Inbetweeners, Frasier and Scrubs (I watch a lot of TV).

They all, however, pale into insignificance when compared with Blackadder.

Mine would include Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, Extras, Phoenix Nights....

Blackadder was indeed brilliant, as was Fawlty Towers and Rising Damp.

Aha! So I am.

As much as I loved I'm Alan Partridge, I preferred Knowing Me, Knowing You. That was just ace.

l would go as far as saying Peep Show is the best comedy ever! Brilliant programme.

I didn't think Gavin & Stacey was that funny really, it was watchable and I enjoyed it but there wasn't a lot of real 'laugh out loud' moments for me

Spaced was awesome, as was Jam and Big Train. I can't fucking stand Father Ted or Blackadder, but I am aware that puts me very much in the minority.

I loved I'm Alan Partridge. I just find it such a brilliantly amusing character.
