Swindon is like some kind of magical fantasy world compared to Coventry...
I always feel a bit sorry for Coventry, because it has a long and distinguished history, but there's not much of it left. First in was Henry VIII, who took a particular dislike to Coventry and razed its monastic cathedral, just leaving a couple of bits standing....then the Luftwaffe stepped in and razed the medieval cathedral and many historic buildings, followed by 60's planners, who finished the job of obliterating most of the rest of its historic buildings.
Some of these Henrician dissolved places ended up being bijou like Malmesbury....but Coventry went for industry.
