And a 3.5 year deal to boot.

Jeez, didn't see that. That's madness at any time, but right now it's just sheer stupidity.

Unexpected but welcome

Really decent appointment on the face of it. Let's go Steve!!

a great appointment.

Fantastic appointment. Some ambition at last.

We wanted experience and wow we've got it!

Happy with Steve Cotterill. Good manager.

really pleased with this, someone with a wealth of experience at this level, and at 3.5 years you've got to say well done to the board here.

As others have said, 3 and a half years is truly surprising under the current circumstances too.

Cotterill has made a habit of seeing out his contract when he has left clubs before so quite happy to stay out of work for a year or two. 3.5 year deal has got to be a win win for him. If he does well he'll be off to the Championship like a shot.

A 3 1/2 year contract is just guaranteeing a big pay off when he's sacked😁

I can see why they’d be happy with Cotterill in all honesty. He’s managed at a higher level, and has also got a few promotions under his belt.
On paper his CV is a lot better than Sheridan’s, yes he’s probably got a similar win percentage, but he’s spent a fair chunk of his career in the Championship.

Indeed. His last season in League 1 saw him win the league - plenty would be creaming themselves if we made an appointment of a similar calibre.
