Did Fylde get relegated? If so he might be out of a job anyway

Still not decided whether 1 or 2 go down, if its one it will be Chorley so Fylde will be OK, if its two they are knackered.

Whole playoff situation in National League seems to be a total shit show! https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/sport/18536158.targeted-dates-york-city-play-off-campaign-revealed/

Sol Campbell leaves Southend.

Until he gets a job at a non basket case club not sure where he goes;

Macclesfield Town 30    8    12    10    26.7%
Southend United   23    4    5    14    17.4%
Total               53    12    17    24    22.6%

Some suggestion he might roll up at Barrow, Southend fans seem concerned that they might get Brown back.

Southend could go straight through - big money problems, huge turnover of players, no manager....

Flitcroft heavily tipped to become the new Barrow manager, good luck with that. Another massive change in style for Barrow fans if it happens.

Only seen that via one anon twitter source, no mention of it up here at the moment? Would seem to  be a strange move for all.

I found several comments about him being a good manager and that fans want him on their forum, I don't ever look at twitter for rumours.

Probably their most important managerial appointment in 50 odd years, Flitcroft would mean a complete change of style and no idea if they have the personnel to play the way he does. Talking to my Barrow supporting neighbour the other evening, he seemed to think that Keith Hill would be a decent bet to stabilise them in L2 at least.

Other ones he mentioned were Challinor from the Monkey Hangers, but the one they seem keenest on is formerly of this Parish Luke Garrard although they fear its not realistic due to Borehamwood still being in play offs and wider geography.

Luke Garrard has been linked to the Town job a few times and coming to us would be more realistic as its a massive relocation, also he is a purveyor of the Flitcroft style.

Keith Hill would be ideal IMO, straight swap.

Challinor has only been at Hartlepool for since just before Christmas but yet again has connections with the North West, which for whatever reason seems to be key.

He did well at Fylde but not done quite so well with Pools. His style though again is a massive difference from Evatt with Challinor preferring the long ball percentage game. Keith Hill plays the better of the styles of football for certain.

But all have been successful with their own style and its not for us to say what works and what doesn't style wise, look how far the Crowleys got Lincoln...hes been found out at Huddersfield though, and its got Curle an amount of success too. Not that many teams in L2 will play the passing game well, we are a rarity combining style and results.

We managed that partly because we had a number of players who could be comfortable in L1, some of whom we took a gamble on because of their injury records - Baudry, Fryers, Lyden for example.
To some extent that was true of the Cowleys at Lincoln - the style must have been grim to watch every week but they had a group of players who were very good at what they were asked to do. Comparing that with Flitcroft, who wanted to play the same hoofball style, DF didn稚 sign the players to execute that effectively.

Flitcroft would keep Barrow in League Two. For all of his shite football it's worth remembering that he took Bury up automatically, he had us in the playoffs before he left and he got Mansfield to the playoffs too.

Keith Hill would be a great appointment for them I think.

Not seen them play but interesting you say that as Barrow fans seem to think that BHW played the best football in the league bar themselves.

I suspect the issue is persuading anyone to move to Barrow, its miles away from even most of the north west, they don't call it the world longest cul-de-sac for nothing!

They play long balls down the channels, they have a big fast man up front and 2 speedy wingers.

His teams get the ball forward as quickly as they can and defend high up the pitch, I watched a lot of the highlights of their games when Luke was linked to us last time.

Its almost identical style to Flitcroft and Curles teams, long balls down the channels, balls played into the box quickly and strikers with a bit of pace.

The over all standard of the National league though is pretty shocking and its mor eabout strength and fitness than anything, Garrard does like fit players.

Bolton still have not transferred the fee over allowing them to sign Evatt!

Announcement delayed until they have funding in place!

Understandably with Boltons financial history.
