John Sheridan leaves Carlisle, in the League 2 play offs, to take over Chesterfield in the National League relegation zone to become the highest paid manager in the 4th and 5th tiers.

Carlisle did poorly on this survey that Audrey posted up.... basket case clubs.

http://againstleague3.co.uk/2018/12/21/al3-ownership-survey-the-full-results/

Taking out the non leaguers and respondants with only one or two.... then we're prob in the top ten just ahead of Carlisle, Yeovil being the other Div 4 struggler, and certainly they have reason to worry for this season.

Carlisle will stay up this season, but we know how unsettling the gaffer bailing for better prospects can be when in the Div 4 PO's.

Yeovil have stated that they must sell at least one player before the end of January.

Although Sheridan got Chesterfield relegated, he is a bit of a cult hero up here for them. His only successes as a manager came with Chesterfield (L2 Champions & FL Trophy v us) and they haven't forgotten it. Of course Oldham is his true home but I imagine he has quite a soft spot for the Spirites. Likely imagining the hero status he will receive if he stops the rot and begins their plan to get back in the Football League.

He's not been appointed as of yet.

Statement by Carlisle suggested a falling out/failure to convince Sheridan that they'd back him in the transfer market.

That’ll be the club line of course.

He was doing alright there too, to then go to a team in the National League relegation zone is bizarre
