Power's said so himself in the past. Not sure what to make of it myself either.

No way. That would mean we spent less that year than Yeovil, Fleetwood, Oldham, Vale, Crawley, Orient, Rochdale, Chesterfield. Not a chance.

We do know that Power was trying to bring the wage bill down, but wasn't able to do it in one season, but rather in stages.

So for example, in 14/15 we still had Andy Williams, kicking around on PdC style money. The previous season we'd managed to loan him out,  but a bad injury meant no repeat.  Happily though Andy got us 20 goals.  The rest of the squad was mainly, loans, the Thompson twins, who'd come through with us, and non league punts like Gladwin. The money would have been on the wages of Wes, and the Spurs players.

I'm sure Cooper (or was it Cooper Snr) said the season after Wembley the budget was one of the lowest in the league too.

There's actually a pretty good chance.  Of the clubs you mention Fleetwood and Orient had fairly high wage bills that season.  Fleetwood have a sugar daddy and Orient were owned by the Italian chap who thought it prudent to pay Henderson, McAnuff and Simpson colossal wages.  Crawley were coming to the end of their relative largesse.  Chesterfield had Gary Roberts and Ian Evatt who would have been on decent money.  Rochdale would have had a smaller budget than Swindon.  Don't know about Yeovil, Port Vale and Oldham.  A lot of our players were loanees whose wages would have been minimal.  We had quite a small squad in numbers.  The only big earners were Foderingham and Williams from the previous regime.

I'm sure Cooper (or was it Cooper Snr) said the season after Wembley the budget was one of the lowest in the league too.

Well that season, was when we lost players like Luongo, Gladwin, Louis, Byrne, Williams, Wes, and some of the loans, to replace them with the Boos and Barrys.  It ws only being able to get Galdwin and Louis back on short loan, that kept us up.

Without the Spurs link the recruitment was terrible, and the rule change on short term loans finished the job the following year.

Which brings us to where we are now.... a sustainable club with a middling Div 4 budget.  Power hoping that PB might be able to add value to what he has got.

Be interesting tomorrow coming up against a Trust run club..... on the surface given our bigger gates, you'd think we'd have a slightly bigger budget than the Grecians, however they do seem like an Accy or Wycombe, to be able to get a lot out of a little.

Seems like they have a bigger budget than us, however, this from Brown....

“They’ve got a good budget, and it allowed them to get two players that I was chasing in the summer because of a better contract."

None of us know what budget we had or other clubs had or what our players were earning or what other players at other clubs were earning

It’s all guess work.

I presume budget encompasses purchases as well as wages. In that case, IIRC, Luongo cost £400,000 and Byrne £100,000. That, plus wages, would have our budget well in the top half I’d imagine.

I assume Power must have been referring to wages when he said that we had the second lowest budget in L1 that season.

Paul Hurst gone from Ipswich.

Had some great success with a lower league STFC, on a budget, with some clever recruitment.....

I see Real Madrid's Managerial impact on Spain's World Cup has turned out to be worth it.

I feel a bit sorry for Julen.... no doubt a decent coach, but I guess lacks political nous, which is an essential of management.
