What happens on the pitch will of course matter most but having been not so inspired and probably a tad harsh, what he had to say was encouraging, especially with regard to tactical awareness. I'll back him from now until the end of season. Listening to what he said, I gather it's an initial "end of season deal" ie get us in the play-offs/promoted and you'll get a renegotiated deal. Interesting times.

He didn’t state we have ‘10 Cup finals’ so that’s a start.

No surprise there. They had a perfectly competent operator in Puel and sacked him, if you keep selling your players and rotating the manager, it'll likely catch up with you at some point.

It's interesting how some of the clubs like Southampton, Swansea, Wigan and Hull that we played in the 3rd tier who then shot up the leagues are starting to unravel. They seem to get a few years in the big time and then stray from their model or just make one or two bad appointments before they start returning from whence they came.

Soton a bit different to the other three, insofar as they've a reasonable amount of top flight seasons in the bank, since being traditional Div 3 in the 20's, the little of 40's played and 50's.  Including the Southern League years we played them loads, also in the second tier of the early 60's, then a bit sporadic, as they became established top flight.

I saw something tonight to say a lot of money on betting exchanges placed on Tactics Tim but maybe with his win record at Spurs it's what they want
