Is it me or do things not quiet add up?

I think that there is a lot more that has gone on which we do not know about - from Wray's dismisal through to PDC resigning. If PDC did know in advance about the sale of Ritchie then it does change the whole picture somewhat.

Looking at who Coventry have lined (and laughably going to pay compensation for), we could have done so much worse.

Not a hugely interesting article but I've not seen anyone mention it yet so...

Are they just going through the back catalogue of ex-players?

Not like he'd admit to being passed over by a 3rd division club for a bloke no one has heard of.

Really? He might not be well known if all you do (not you, jonny but the armchair Sky fans) is scan the back pages but loads of people knew him as a well-respected number 2 at Villa surely, albeit perhaps not before that?

Not disagreeing with your main point but I don't think it's quite fair to describe MacDonald as a bloke no one has heard of.

I had to look him up when he was linked with us. I'd imagine I'd read about him when he was linked with the Blackburn job, and possibly previously when he was at Villa, but the name didn't stick. I was however being facetious when I referred to him as a bloke no one has heard of and was alluding to the fact that most people reading that article still wouldn't have heard of him.

I'm no armchair Sky fan as I don't have Sky, but the only number two's I'm familiar with get flushed down the toilet.

He actually wasn't a bad box to box midfielder when at Liverpool, Coventry and Leicester and was fairly well known to most of the "older" fans.

And he was close to a call up for Scotland a few times in the 80's when Scotland had a good side!

Lee Johnson named as new manager of Oldham.

Hoping to follow on in the footsteps of his old man.

Quite a gamble I think for the latics getting in an inexperinced young manager (31) in his first job and them struggling in the relegation zone.

Blackburn have sacked Michael Appleton.

What a mess of a club.

A real poisoned chalice of a job. Who in their right mind would take Blackburn on.

Owners are ridiculous at that club. However, the fans are no better imo. The way they treated Steve Keen and got him sacked when they were in play off position at the start of the year means I have little sympathy for them

Anyone who fancies a payoff after a few months?

They are a joke, which starts off with their 'Global Advisor' Shebby Singh. Don't forget they sacked Kean at the beginning of the season, despite being in the play-offs...and it's been downhill ever since.
