I'll hold my hands up and say Buckle was my choice. Happy to be wrong.

Bit early for wovers to be panic sacking yet though isn't it?

Likewise, I would rather have had Buckle at the time, and despite my reservations Paolo has done a better job so far.

I was in 2 minds on Buckle. He sounded alright but nothing special. I'd have preferred Tisdale. Anyhow it seems the likes of Buckle and Johnson were not highly rated at Torquay or Posh in their previous respective jobs so maybe they are not as good as people suggest. Their recent records would prove that.

I was happy with PDC. It was something new, fresh and exciting and at the moment it seems to be coming together quite nicely.

Rovers went with a lower league up-and-coming manager who possibly over achieved with Torquay (in the FL) and he then went on to sign a lot of known but ultimately mediocre players.

This is what can happen when  you don't take risks.

Interesting to note too that Gary Johnson, who many wanted (including myself) when wilson left, is doing a very good job of dragging northampton out of this division

FFS, I'll sit in the corner with a D hat on.

I though it was this bouncy laptop keyboard causing typos, apparently not.

He was my #1 choice at the start of the season, with PDC at #2.  Talking about Hamann at the weekend, as it happens.  Liked him as a player...shame it hasn't worked out.

Think we can sum the last few pages up as: on present form, the Board got the manager appointment right in the summer.

Agree on all counts Ardiles. I too was hoping for our appointment to be Hamann with PDC second. Just happy to be proved wrong.
