Some Doncaster fans seem to think Wellens is there for the duration regardless.

Is his dad paying his wages?

They do but there are more that think his time has come to an end with quite frankly appalling run of 7 defeats and 2 draws in the first 9 games, scoring just 2 goals and conceding 17.

That is shockingly bad.

That is shockingly bad.
Especially so when you see the talent he has at his disposal, Matt Smith, John Bostock,  Kyle Knoyle all quality ex Town players.

He also brought in Joe Dodoo, Jordy Hiwula and Tiago Cukur (Watford loan) as striking options to add to Fejiri Okenabirhie who bagged 16 goals for them last season, and Omar Bogle (who wants away).

I know they have had a few injuuries but thats massively missfiring.

I was told an interesting story the other day from someone I trust, regarding Wellens when he was here, and why he never spoke out on Power or had an issue including a certain player in the squad.
It involved him allegedly receiving an envelope now and again, from a players dad, what was in it is anyone’s guess.

Very few, if any, managers speak out about previous owners. It would seriously undermine any future job opportunities.

I can’t honestly remember if Curran was a regular bench warmer under Wellens last season - before he legged it.

I think I can answer that, last season Curran featured on the bench or started in a total of 50 games, the season before he started or was on the bench a total of 32 times.

It was, that was 32 out of just 42 total games.

He has been part of the first team on 83 occassions in little over 2 seasons, that says it all, money talks.

TBF in the covid season he only started 2 games (both shitty cup ones) and only came on as a sub in 2 league games in the 90th min both times.

Very much so, but this sort of thing happens way mor eoften in football than we know, speaking to many ex players and staff over the years blind eyes have always and will always be turned to this sort of thing.

Often though not as blatant as TC being in the squad/side, but brown envelopes has always been part and parcel of the game, not just in the lower leagues too.

The game is inherently corrupt and has always been more about money than the sport.
