"We need to find an experienced manager in this league and there are plenty out there. The sooner we do that, the better."

That's from Scholes, a few weeks ago.

That could be both good and bad news for us; the good being "There are plenty out there," suggesting that they've got a few candidates they're looking at. "The sooner we do that, the better" suggests to me that they were hoping it'd be done by now.

Either the man they want isn't available so they're looking at second / third options, or they're thrashing out a deal for compensation with his current employers.

Nixon, who seems to be pretty reliable on STFC, said a few weeks ago that the job is Wellens if he wants it.

TBF, it may well be, however, if he doesn’t want it or they have approached Power and he said no then it’s a non starter. Anyone who knows a bit about football could say it’s his if he wants it.

If Wellens wanted it you'd think he'd be there by now.

Well, yes, then Power would be the obstacle in that case.

When does his isolation period end....let’s hope that isn’t what’s delaying things!

Nixon reckons ‘If they wanted Wellens they would surely have done it by now. Both had a blank week.’

Richie Wellens is now 4/7 on Sky bet for the Salford job. The next one on the list is 4/1.
If it's going to happen it will be this week.

Hope he doesn't go but i can see it happening in the current climate with Jewell taken over at Swindon.

I'd forgotten all about that after yesterday's decent win! Maybe Wellens couldn't have a proper interview until next week once the isolation is over
