There's nothing I'd wish less than to go all Reg on you, but their transfer window behaviour made it entirely clear this was about to happen. I think that's called "a vote of confidence", giving up on this year and cutting costs to the bone ahead of sacking Bowyer to give the new man a war-chest in the summer.

You’d think so. But who best to be blamed for sending them back than the bloke you’re about to sack. Make no mistake, the board wanted them both off the payroll but didn’t want the flak to come their way. Their recruitment in Jan was bizarre and shows them up as either skint or just using any money they do have in paying off Bowyer. The new bloke will need to be a miracle worker. |
