I used to love watching all football ( attending and watching on telly ) but as I've got older and more introverted, its Town or nothing. I haven't watched any Premier stuff for ages. Its all about the Town and my mood goes up and down according to how we do - it has not been good for quite a while and I fully expect it to get a lot worse. I'm with The Flash, I'd take 5th from bottom this season. In fact, I'd take 5th from bottom next season such is my faith in the current set up.

Fuck me, that's sad! But I know what you mean - hope, in the immediate future, is difficult to imagine.

Every match I can attend is 'purple' for me. I feel fortunate I can afford a ST, and have the time and health to go. How shit we are/will be/have been doesn't come in to it.
This. It's my team and I'll follow them through thick and thin until unable to do so. For those, not on here, who say they are not going again until manager x or owner y has gone, then the "splitter" scene from Life of Brian springs to mind for some reason. On mobile so can't post link unfortunately.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? Crap!

Yep, that's me. And I've missed so many of the glory days people harp on about, maybe that's why I'm still committed now? I don't think I do have low expectations though, I've just always been pretty positive. I've only really felt despondent about the club when it's been run by crooks. And even then I still went.

I watch argyle a few times a year, but it's nowhere near to the buzz of watching Swindon, even when we are shit.

I've got to the stage where I don't know who we are playing most weekends. I used to know all our fixtures months in advance.

Probably the best they could hope for - not many would be happy taking on a club publicly in turmoil

I went through the glory days, but even then, between a couple of wins over Newcastle and West Ham say, we'd get stuffed on a Wednesday night in Darlington and get home at 5 in the morning, wanting to murder the milkman. It's never been an easy ride.

I was talking to a mate last night who was reminiscing about the period around the turn of the decade 79/80, when we put 8 on Bury beat Arsenal, and progressed in the FA to set up a game with Spurs. What I recall was losing at home to Exeter of all clubs, 2-3 having been 2-1 up. We'd never lost at the CG to Exeter, in my time and haven't done since in a league fixture.
