Yeah but in context they came up from the conference after being stuck there for 9 years, stayed up, and have improved this year, so I think they are mad in the scheme of things. Fair enough if they were hanging around 19th or lower than they finished last season. But they arent.

He never intended to at all, it was just a PR move. The LFU  (kind of a fans' consortium, but not the Trust, contrary to p2p's original post) called his bluff when he asked for £30m which he clearly intended to frighten them off and when that didn't work he's now backtracked. Dodgy, lying crook.
