Suspect Fernandes' slightly sniffy tweet about not needing to sign any players because they'd given the manager millions in the summer, he now had a talented squad and they expected coaching and tactics to do the rest might not have helped. Sounded like a not very coded "Shut your whinging and get on with the job you're paid to do, instead of looking for backhanders you jowly twat".

No its all down to a knee operation obviously!

If that is the case (and I don't believe it for a minute) its a somewhat shitty thing to do it the day after the deadline so the incoming cannot do anything to change the squad!
