Where did you hear this? I can find nothing on any of their forums, Its a wierd time to sack the manager as they in the process of another takeover.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28146442
He MUST have something about him, his managerial record is poor to say the least but seems very highly regarded.

Listening to radio Oxford also they have new joint owners with some guy Called Mark Ashton as the new CEO who apparently has had a dodgy past at Watford and Wycombe I reckon they are not going to be happy bunnies down the A420.

Some dodgy new owners. Wonder if Jed might get involved!

Wow, they've got themselves a gem there. Aren't there any jobs going in the upper reaches of the Championship or Premier League where he can use his skills? I suppose he'll only be there for a short time before he gets poached to the top again.
His win ratio (I know its only figures) is currently.....

West Brom   1 game    0 wins   1 loss     0 draw win ratio 0.00%
Portsmouth 51 games 13 wins 11 draws 27 loss win ratio 25.49%
Blackpool    12 games  2 wins   8 draws  2 loss win ratio 16.67%
Blackburn    15 games  4 wins   5 draws  6 loss win ration 26.67%

Total    79 games 19 wins 25 draws 35 loss win ratio  24.05%

To put that into context....thats similar win ratio as Iffy Onoura had at Swindon (22.5%)

Why employ a manager that's been proven to be crap. Surely it'll be more logical to go for an unknown that might turn out to be good.

It's brutal but he shouldnt really be judged on the Pompey period, he worked under ridiculous circumstances there.

The mind boggles. There was a period where he was being linked with shit loads of jobs and was clearly a clown. It was bizarre watching him lose and still being thought of as some sort of future Guardiola.

I think it was the premature balding and stubbly beard look, on top of tight fitting v necked jumpers...

Sure are some weird appointments this summer.

Not sure what is weirder - Hockaday or Appleton.

The whole crux of the Oxford (spits) is the stadium - or more pertinently, the ground it sits on.

Be honest, would anyone be REALLY happy to see them go to the wall

Not me, I wouldn't like to see any club go to the wall*. Rivalries help to make football what it is.

*Except franchise.

Yeah but at least Ince has got an excuse. Everyone's horrid to him because he's black aren't they?

Appleton to Oxford is a sound appointment, certainly better than Waddock.

Hopefully this once bright-young-thing-turned-gizza-job will go the way of Aidy Boothroyd's spell at Northampton.
