My car fucked up on the way back from the game yesterday. The brakes are making a grinding noise and there's a similar noise (Although not as bad) when I'm driving. The thing is, no warning lights are showing on the dash.
Any ideas?

The brake pads are probably worn through.

I can understand your puzzlement Si, but when it comes to cars (Or basically anything that is of a slightly practical nature) I'm a bit of a fuckwit. tbf, I did think it was probably the pads/shoes, but the lack of a warning light threw me a bit.

On a slightly related note, my brakes squeek when I brake. This just means I need the pads changing yes?

Sometimes it is just the dry hot weather that makes them squeek, check with someone they need changing rather than automatically assume they do.
