I'm looking at this from work. Our network doesn't let spyware in.

I'm only an IT expert, what do I know!
This cookie as you admit tracks where you go, this behavior then let company's know your likes and dislikes, i.e war books, and then they can send you pop ups for for products you like, i.e like war books, which gives them a prime target for there products
There is no other reason to track you, otherwise it would just keep you logged in, like a 'normal' cookie I get to meet rather to many 'IT experts' in my trade.

This does not track you on other sites, it tracks you on this site!It in no way provides info for other companies, this cookie has no data at all within it!!!Jesus, it is a by product of phpbb (do you know what this is IT expert?) and it does only keep you logged in!Show me where within that cookie it shows me using amazon earlier and tell me what books i bought then clever clogs? Did i even go to amazon? Stumped? i thought so.

I cant be bothered to argue you with you any more! you are clearly talking crap and at the stage where you will say anything in the hope of being proved right! do you really think tracking/spyware cookies store the info they gather on your pc?, I leave you to have the last word and feel like Mr big for a few seconds! I will see you on the other side! Real time Chatroom!!!

I will see you on the other side! Real time Chatroom!!! I don't want the last word mate, but i don't like being told by an "IT expert" that i make stuff up 1. Cookies DO hold data, which ARE stored on your pc. 2. Spyware sends data and tracks you and IS ALWAYS SOFTWARE. info on phpbb cookies. I (or my users) cannot stay logged in to the forum!
If you (or your users) are, after attempting a login, being returned to the index (or other page) without appearing to be logged in the most likely problem is incorrect cookie settings. phpBB 2 uses cookies to store a session id and a small amount of user data. For this data to be stored correctly the cookie domain, path and secure settings must be correct. You can check this in Admin->General Configuration->Cookie settings. Typically the cookie domain can be left blank and the cookie path set to / (a single forward slash). Do not set the cookie as being secure unless your board is running over a secure sockets layer connection, ie. https:// http://www.phpbb.com/support/documents.php?mode=faqAnd the difference between spyware and cookies is explained here. Generally for prefences such as purchases etc and sensitive data you need spyware, not cookies. Cookies hold data, sometimes sensitive. Cookies do nothing active, they can not send, only be read and worte within. Anything malicious happening with cookies happens by the data being read by a third party. if any data within the cookies is to be sent or distributed it needs some software, known as spyware. Rarely are our cookies, especially from sites like this, exploited in anyway. http://www.pnx.com/spyware/default.htm

Basically we are happy here. You want to have your own 'chatroom' to find little boys who support Swindon then have your evil way, but do not draw us innocent townenders into your evil trap you beastly fiend.

Has to be HitMan Pro every time for spyware.
Dutch software that will install full versions of all the major blasters and completely clean the old PC from head to toe.
Well worth a look.

I'm gonna have to get that HitMan Pro thing when I go back to uni. Heard very good things about that. Apparently you can do the install in English as well now. BY the way, J1mmy is a malicious piece of Spyware that spams decent forums with rubbish
