I suspect it isn't. There will be noises of a 'root and branch reform', people will be rightly hung out to dry. And then it'll all settle down a bit. And it'll somehow carry on. Oh Batch...

I'll miss the stories of which Premiership footballer was shagging who. The football was good in it though, but I hated how the paper was always out to stich people up just to get a good story, like Sven. Even the Andy Gray sexism story was done by them to get back at him for sueing them over phone hacking him. Poor old Richard 'hanging out the back of it' Keys just got caught up in it all.

It'll be a re-branding though won't it?

Coming Soon:
The Sun on Sunday
Precisely the reason why Murdoch's licence to print in the UK (if such a thing exists) needs to be looked at.

Of course, in the last year it broke the cricket batting scandal, but as Costanza says it'll be rebranded as The Sunday Sun, or something like that. The question is that what will happen to other papers who have done exactly the same when it all comes out?

Well I think the takeover of Sky by News Corp is now not likely to happen in the near future.

There is no licence to print newspapers in the UK- need one for broadcasting due to the limited bandwidth etc, but anyone can publish a newspaper.

That is a lot of people to sack just to keep Brooks in a job.

Most of them will just go over to a Sunday edition of the Sun (if it happens), but the senior staff needs to be looked into especially Brooks.

On a slightly different note...who does Rebekah Wade score on a 1-10 of "Someone you shouldnt but would?"
She's slightly above Kate McCann, but nowhere near as hot as Amanda Knox...

Doubt it. Some will but this will be a huge chance to cut costs. As for her being sacked, surely a proper criminal investigation is required?

Yes, but even Murdoch is not going to turn down making money. NotW was the biggest selling newspaper in the UK and Murdoch is going to print another paper to replace it. Fully agree with the investigation into Brooks.

Well, he is willing to shut the paper for the sake of owning Sky, so I think we can tell where he thinks the real profit will come from.
