Anyways, Does anyone know who the bannerman is who used to go in the townend? or was he part of the ultras? If you know him, Do you know if he will be appearing again with his flag(s) again this season? Would love to see a big flag movin up n down again n side to side. tnx

You mean the big red and white "flag" that used to get crowd surfed before the game? Townend Terry used to get the flag out from behind his seat.
I don't know who actually owned them, I presumed the club. But last time I saw it, a few seasons ago, it smelled like a dead tramp had been stored in it. I assume it got chucked away shortly after.

Charles Bannerman....first man to score a century in a test match...doing so for Convicts v England in 1877. Bannerman scored 165 before retiring hurt, thus scoring 67.3% of the Aussie total of 245, which I believe is still the highest %age scored by one man in a Test innings.

No, shit....Convicts won by 45 runs. I do however remember the Centenary Test of 77, which coincidentally the Convicts also won by 45 runs.
