When attempting to log in to my email a pop up appears on the screen saying that i have requested an encrypted  page that contains some unencryted information that can be read by a third party.

The security being used is McAfee.

How can i protect my info from being read by someone else?

Mums laptop not mine btw

It's likely something to do with SSL and cookie based ad tracking being present. It's also likely an old browser by the sound of the message - Internet Explorer 6?

Like bmth says, I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry either. Could very easily be an up to date browser, but make sure it's up to date anyway.

Most likely something as simple as there being an image on the page served via http whilst the rest of the page is via https.

Just make sure you've got a padlock or https before you hand over any sensitive data.
