Fair play to Nick Watkins.  Despite all the goings on at the County Ground today and the fact he's clearly hurting over our relegation, he's taken the time to respond to my e-mail about Paul Hart.  His e-mail came though at 6.50pm, so he's  obviously still working into the evening .  I sincerely hope the rumours about his going prove to be unfounded, I think we'd struggle to find anyone else as committed to the club.

Response as follows:

Dear Jo

Thank you for your e-mail and I very much value you re-newing your season ticket.

This season has indeed been disappointing and a crying shame that we can scale such dizzy heights last year and sink to such a lowly position this year - it really hurts.

Your comments regarding Paul hart have been noted and you are not alone in making these observations in relation to his recent media interviews and conduct displayed.

As you may be aware, Andrew Fitton has stood down as Chairman today and Jeremy Wray has stood up to the plate as Chairman.  He and I will be reviewing all football matters immediately.

Best wishes.

Always comes across as a good bloke but that has shocked me, I really don't think many chief execs at any level would have bothered responding to many of the emails which he has. Fair play to the bloke

Fair play to the man - he has always seemed to me to be a very professional and decent bloke.

Dear Martin,

Thank you for your kind words and I will ensure that Andrew is made aware of them.

A tough decision for him to make as he has such passion for the club that he helped rescue but he needs to draw breath, reflect and rest up.

We hope to sort out the manager position soon and your comments re the manager noted.

Best wishes.

Nick

Yep, fair play to NW. Yes

I would like think that this...Your comments regarding Paul hart have been noted and you are not alone in making these observations in relation to his recent media interviews and conduct displayed....means Hart is as good as gone.

As a foot note, I wrote a few letters to the club on various issues back when Mike Spearman was Chairman and got a reply to every one.

OST: Just listening to BBC Wilts.  Sports desk man says 'his understanding' is Hart will not be manager next season. Also heard Fitton (I think) say it is very hard for a manager once a crowd turns on them. Ans so I'd be amazed if Hart was given the job.

Dear Ginginho,

Thank you for your email, it was very touching indeed.

To answer your questions, my favourite cheese is Brie, my favourite pop group is N-Dubz and my favourite alcoholic beverage is Crabbie's Ginger Beer.

We take all recommendations very seriously and rest assured we will make every attempt to make contact with Sheena Easton regarding the soon to be vacant managerial role.

I must also agree with you that Paul Hart is a total babe.

Best regards

Nick

Yep, like the sound of that. Thank fuck.

On another note, what's this 'babe' thing all about?

I wrote to Nick on Tuesday night with a couple of suggestions and got a reply last night from him. As said, he's one of the good guys and I hope he remains in place next season.
