Is the PS3 set up for DHCP or static configuration?

Is it definitely set up right for the wireless network security correctly?

If it is happily getting IP address via DHCP and definitely connecting OK wirelessly you could try:

- From PC run menu, type "cmd.exe"
- From DOS prompt type "ipconfig /all"
- Manually configure the PS3 to match the "DNS Servers" address from above step.

If that doesn't work for the PS3, but does for the PC, then there may be something else going on!

Oh, and FYI DNS turns domain information like www.thetownend.com into IP addresses like 78.129.179.192

Anyone know when the new WAW maps are out on the PS3 and has anyone found it a little laggy over the weekend?

I had a couple of hours but got sick of getting bombed out of games and being signed out despite a decent t'internet connection.

WAW? i dont think you mean that game as they havnt brought out maps for that game for 2 years now. if you mean black ops then they should be out soon.

I've matched the DNS servers to my PC as you said, but that hasn't worked.
Not quite sure what else to try.

Is it DEFINITELY getting an IP address.

http://www.ehow.com/how_5105809_ps3-ip-address.html

Can you report back all the IP addressed reported by the PS3, and of your PC (using ipconfig as per my previous post).

That way we can tell its configured on same network.
---------------
My suspicion is the DHCP is failing probably due to wireless security issue.

Server's down again.

Must just be for sign ins, mines happily downloading my free Wipeout HD.

Yeah, I wanted Infamous. Maybe it's because I downloaded the Fury pack for Wipeout too.

Apparently you can also get free movies and free items in Playstation Home.

Black Ops Escalation Pack hits PS3 on 10 June, looks pretty good from what I have seen so far.

Really? I downloaded the Fury pack also but haven't tried downloading another game yet. Will be a bit pissed off if I can't.
