Skyrim question.

PC or PS3 version?

If I get it on PS3 I will only be able to pkay after the kids/wife have gone to bed - on the PC I can play when I like. Are there any particular benefits or drawbacks to either platform?

Hi i don't play Skyrim and have no intention of doing so either but i would say PC, because of Mods and better graphics probably although more chance of glitches.
However in your case you can play it when you like on PC, it's the winner in my eyes.
Also if you want you can always use your ps3 controller on the PC.

PS3 will have a few advantages like little or no glitches, extremely smooth and you can play it on a big HD TV, if you have one of course.

If you've got a decent gaming PC, Skyrim should run okay with graphics turned down. I could only just about get it to run on mine with all settings on minimum.

This is my worry - I run a fairly basic lappy - 4gb ram and an i3 processor.

I got some games for Chrimbo. I love GTA and did some due dilligence on getting some alternatives that might be fun. I got Just Cause and Infamous. I got the first of each so I can eventually progress on to the latter ones if they're any good. I plan to do the same with Uncharted in future as well. I also got Need for Speed: The Run. I love the NFS series.

I never played Just Cause but JC2 was quality if a little repetative. InFamous was a brilliant game and I'm yet to get round to the 2nd one.

I don't think my Mrs realises the mistake she's made - she's got me Sonic Generations, BF3 and Assassins Creed Revelations to go along with Uncharted 3 and Arkham City....

As I understand it (not owning the game) but Skyrim has an enormous glitch on the PS3  - the frame rate slows down to unplayable speeds when the save file goes over a certain size.

I didn't know about that and I'm playing it on the PS3.

A quick Google suggests the issue is quite random and doesn't cause problems for everyone. Hopefully it'll be fixed in patch 1.4 which is due soon.

I've played Infamous for a few hours today and I fucking love it. Great game - so far at least.
