I'm trying to install a windows security update (KB2478935), and every time I try the install I get the error code 8024200D.

I have tried the install after switching off my Virus Checking software, but still get the same error.

I have raised a call with the Microsoft help desk, but they have got to the point that they think it's due to corrupted system files and want me to perform a system upgrade. I'm a bit wary of this, especially as the other updates I have done since have worked ok.

I have the Home Premium version of Vista, which is at Service Pack 2.

Before I decide whether to go down the route of an upgrade, or simply ignore the update, just wanted to check if any of the clever techie bods on here had any (sensible) advice.

Cheers

Basicly some updates are not compatable....especially if you have an older computer.
