I suppose you could say the same thing about all charity stuff though. People wouldn't spontaneously donate to most charities were it not for events and sponsorship to raise awareness. As much as Moyles is an annoying bastard fair play for him trying to do something more challenging than dancing like a twat in drag on telly.
All radio is shit anyway.

You could also argue it's because of his fame and ego that means he CAN raise over £1m for charity.

It doesn't really matter if half the country despise the bloke, he managed to raise £2.4 million in 52 hours for a good cause.  I think it was a fantastic effort and watching on the red button became strangely addictive. I've always wondered what goes on in the studio when songs are playing.
