From when Eagles was mentioned before:

Quote
He said: “I sent a fax to Sir Alex congratulating him on reaching 1,000 games in charge.

“I said that the only way I’d reach that many games was if he was to lend me Kieran Richardson or Chris Eagles.”

King joked that he was still waiting for a response, although both he and assistant Mike Walsh have cast an eye over Eagles in the Old Trafford club’s reserves.

He is a right sided midfielder but he had a loan spell at Watford last year so you'd think it'd be more likely he'd go to another championship side.

Would be great if it was him but could be any number of players. Nothings tied up yet anyway.

I think you are all missing something.  Kingy said this:

“I have something in place, although it’s not totally agreed yet, to take a DEFENDER on a year’s loan from the Premiership.

I'm no Sherlock Holmes but that to me suggests the player will be a defender :|

Apparently he is experienced.  Possibly someone from Everton?  Alan Stubbs has been told he is not needed.

I'm surprised he's been told he was not wanted.  That would be on a par with signing Mooney.

Like I said in the other thread, it WON'T be Stubbs. He's not signed a new contract at Goodison, and didn't show for pre-season yesterday. If he's not at the club, then how can he come to us on loan???

He wasn't told he wasn't wanted, but was offered a new contract (probably on reduced terms because of his age) and hasn't signed it.

Oh sorry I thought he was still under contract.  Would make sense though, experienced prem defender and Kingy has contacts at Everton.

Gary Breen anyone?  Can't remember where he is at the mo, but it must be either Sunderland or West Ham - both of which King has good links with.

Yeah on the official site it just says a player but judging from the adver it's definitely not a midfielder.

Andy Melville has been mentioned elsewhere but I can't see why West Ham would loan out a 36/37 year old.  They're not likely to want him back are they?  It has to be a young player, I can't think who though.
