Pretty much on the nail as I recall, except that Diamandis et al were initially all in favour of it when they thought Bill was underwriting it on his todd, but then once they forced him out realised they'd then have to stump up themselves. Not something they had a good track record at. So it then became a stick to beat Bill/Mark D with. It wasn't the cause of the split, but became a political tool after it.
There were a lot of tools involved in the club in those days Paul!

If that was a political tool, was Mr. Whippy a particularly unpolitical tool?

So for the next gaffer its a choice of either Ince or Trollope! :-(

I would have loved the club to attract someone like Tisdale at Exeter, but if I was him would almost regard Swindon as a step down which is a sad prediciment!

Out of interest, did anyone watch the JPT final?  I cant be the only person who thought Brentford's performance reminded them of the performance of a certain team at Wembley back in May?

He was just a tool. A useless one at that.

One word too many, sadly.  We're a bigger club with greater potential, certainly.  But right now, it would be a backward step for him.

Don't forget like Millwall, Carlisle got there last season as well,  our lot seemed overwhelmed by the occasion....maybe a bit of experience helps.

He has shat right on Barnet there.

Was he not on a fixed contract there?

Not really. He was on non-contract terms earning, reportedly, 250 quid a week. He's brought some good players in an given them a fighting chance to of staying up, but at the end of that day why wouldn't he move for a one year rolling deal at a much bigger club?
