Are the films on your laptop/pc?

If your TV and laptop have a VGA port like the one below you just need any old VGA cable. Shouldn't cost more than a tenner from any PC shop.

Does your laptop have a HDMI port? That would be ideal, but not all have them.

Or if the PC has DVI and the TV has HDMI you can get a converter cable - no sound carried by DVI though.

Or

If there is a VGA input on the TV you can use a VGA out from the Laptop to VGA in on the TV.

You would also need to use an audio lead (out from PC, in to TV) as VGA doesn't carry the sound....

What sonic said.

But you'd need to hook any sound system you have up to the laptop. VGA 15pin cables don't do sound.

I used to use an S-Video cable (and an audio I think) on my old lapper. That was pretty simple. S-video to S-Video and headphones to audio in.
